Visit Newport
Just over the Newport Bridge from Jamestown (two dollar toll each way). Home of the Tennis Hall-of-Fame, the Vanderbuilts, Americas Cup something or other, great boutiques, antiques and restaurants! May we suggest taking a walk on the Cliff Walk or a tour of a breathtaking Newport Mansion. Interested in window shopping? Newport has a lot of one of a kind shops and maritime antiques. You'll find most shops off of America's Cup Avenue and/or Thames Street near the Newport Welcome Center. Here are some sites that might be helpful: Bowen's Warf , Go Newport and Newport Attractions. Making the trek to Providence? (20 minute drive from Wickford)

Check out the historical East Side, once the home of Edgar Allen Poe and HP Lovecraft. Visit the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Museum or Providence Athenaeum. Pretend you are a Brown graduate student and treat yourself to an espresso and falafel on hopin' Thayer Street.
